New Beginnings of Carla's Blog

It has taken a long time for me to figure so many things out about what this amazing woman did with her life. She was an amazing Mother and Wife. She was a caring and nurturing friend and daughter. And in her spare time she managed to climb to the top of a very competitive market of talented graphic designers in the digital scrapbooking industry. It was all a labor of Love for Carla. She was selfless, tireless and driven beyond what most 'normal' people would consider healthy. And if there was one flaw in her armor it was her sense of privacy and personal inability to see how beautiful and amazing she really was. She was so caught up in making sure that everyone else was happy and taken care of that she forgot to do the same or even allow others to return the favors she bestowed upon them. Only shortly before her passing had she begun to allow the thought that people "may someday" like her designs. This was in the face of being published several times and the day of her illness she was able to read an article calling her "A Rising Star". I have to say, the smile it brought to her face that day certainly made her shine like one. I am forever grateful to the author of that article for those final moments of happiness. Since Carla's passing on June 2, 2007 I have been blessed to have received so many kind words from so many people from all over this world. It is my goal to touch as many people back in thanks for the respect in which they treated Carla. She is, was and will always be my one true love and I will do what I can to honor her memory and see that her dreams still come true in the hope that some day we will be together again, in our new home. Until then, there is much to do and I hope you will come be a part of it with us.

In other news...
George went back to the doctor this week and has to endure another 5 days of shots in his stomach! Urgh!
He still has the blood clot in his leg. So they upped his rat poison (coumadin) and has to take Lovenox shots. This has been going on for almost 4 weeks now. I sure hope that they get this cleared up soon!!!

Taylor came home early from school today due to illness. She's been sneezing continously for about 3 weeks now. She went to her friends house, and they have pets indoors and she is really allergic to animals (we all are), and every since then, she's been coming down with this cold. Well I think that it finally got the best of her and she had to come home. I gave her some medicine and she slept quite a bit. These allergy pills that we have aren't doing the trick though. May have to get some Claritin or something like that.
We had to reschedule her driving lesson, because she was just so worn out. Both of my babies are sick :-(

Hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day weekend. We are staying home. The gas prices are soaring and we just can't afford to do anything right now. (Remember I had to pay a huge amount of money for certified drivers training), so that wiped out the cash flow for the next 4 weeks until payday rolls around again.

{Weekend is almost over}

I can't believe how fast the weekends go! Here it is Sunday evening 8:20 p.m. and I feel like it should still be Friday night. I got a lot done this weekend though. I ended up burning a ton of kits and odds and ends onto DVD's yesterday. Trying to organize my computer better, hopefully it will help to find things when I am designing. I still have a lot to organize though!
I did end up getting another funky grunge alpha out and it is in the store at Oscraps
Available for Personal Use and I have one in the store for Commercial Use too! I really like these alphas, you can change the colors and it will be perfect for Title work!

Taylor starts her driving lessons tomorrow evening! I think that she is kind of excited, yet terrified at the same time. I hope that she does well. She better, it's costing us quite a pretty penny!

{Very bad blogger}

This week has flown by in a hurry! I can't believe that it's almost Friday....again!
I made it up to see my Dad on Wednesday. Stayed about 3 hours and had a pretty good visit.
Last night I was so exhausted, and was in bed by 9:30 p.m. I never go to bed that early, haven't for years and years. This morning I woke up with the left side of my face all swollen and I have a very sore knot on the back of my head. I didn't hit it or anything, so I am thinking that it may be my glands or thyroids acting up again. The swelling went down some today, but that knot on the back of my head still really hurts. My neck is still pretty swollen still. May have to go to the doctor, but hate going. Plus, I don't have any health insurance and with the rates I'll be paying the bill for a very long time. Not sure I want to put my family in that kind of debt, but what can you do.
I did finish another paper pack this week. It's available now at Oscraps!

I am so thankful that it's Friday! Wow, it's been a busy week with lots of excitement!

{Gloomy Thursday}

The weather here is gloomy and dreary - AGAIN! This has been several days running now. I really need sunshine. My mood is starting to be like the weather! lol!!!

{Monday Morning}

Our weekend started out great, but ended not so well. Saturday, George, Taylor and I scrapped all day and spent the day posting over at Oscraps! I don't think we've laughed so much in such a long time. It was well into the wee hours of the morning before we stopped. We had a lot of fun.
Friday, George noticed that his right leg was swollen. Since 2002, he's had vascular issues due to an injury where he used to work, several surgeries and a major infection later, left his left iliac artery 100% closed off.
But this was his right leg. He rested, propped it up, you know all those things you do when your legs, ankles and stuff start swelling. Sunday morning he woke up and it was still swollen, but was very painful. Well the swelling didn't go down and the tightness and pain wasn't going away. He thought that he'd better go in and have it checked out. They kept him in the hospital - he has a blood clot in his right leg. His right leg was 4 inches bigger on the right side! He was in a lot of pain!
This morning he calls and says that he's being released today, but has to give himself shots in the tummy for the next six months! Six months! He said that the shots hurt like you know what!
I am so thankful that he's doing better and that he coming home! I didn't sleep worth a darn last night. Was awake at every noise and you know you just don't sleep as well when one of your own is gone. Taylor and I both are just worn completely out!

So, I'm going to post my new wears that I put in the store over the weekend! I really love these papers! Will be working on the elements this week, when time permits!

Have lots to do today! Have all the laundry and stuff that didn't get done over the weekend. It's that time again to change the sheets and get all that washed up too! Housework....yulk! I'd rather be scrapping! lol!!!

And it's not raining here! Yes!!! It's been raining most of the week and it's been gloomy and yucky! The temperatures are suppose to get up in the 80's by Sunday! Yes, a fun day out!

I've been busy this week playing instead of working like I should have. But I did get some neat layouts finished.
